The symphonic metal French group Kerion releases “Holy Creatures quest” which is the last part of the trilogy “Staraxis”. Important means have been given for this album whatever on the composition level, vocals or instrumental melodies or the production.The album has the benefit of an excellent production with a powerful sound giving much impact to purely symphonic parts. The choirs are very present on some tracks and bring a much pronounced lyric side.The compositions are melodic and much varied with a great work of composition in the different vocals and instrumental lines.The album begins with « The Last Quest » and the first part is use as an intro, epic and melodic, the second part is lively and epic with heavy guitars which are mix with symphonic arrangements.  « Queen Of the Gorgons » begins with an acoustic guitar to go in power, track with a little oriental side in the arrangements.  « Warrior’s Call » is faster, more speed/power metal with melodic and well done warriors’ choirs, powerful and lively refrain. « Innocent Unicorns » begins with a piano intro, superb, on which comes the guitar at first electro-acoustic to « break » in power. Succeed piano or acoustic guitar passages, heavier passages, others with symphonic arrangements and orchestrations and that in the majority of the tracks as for example in   « The alchemist ». « March Of The Legion » has much marked choirs with somehow aggressive guitars.The tracks are melodic, epic and powerful with some passages where the riffs are sharp and aggressive and the rhythmic section heavy and well present.Flora’s vocals are well at place, melodic and melodious. Her voice is powerful and lyric as you can judge in « Final Strike » where she shows us all her vocals capacities. An album where power and melody form a nice duo all through the tracks.« Holy Creatures Quest » is a worked album, with catchy and melodic titles and refrains not to miss at its releases if you like the style!!! Kerion is the proof that French symphonic metal groups have a certain talent.
